I met these really interesting people in a dream and right between sleeping and waking when you're starting to get the gist that a dream is a dream experience poignant regret about not being able to keep in touch with them.

Did I mention I turned my therapist into a clinical supervisor? Not with a magic wand or anything, just at some point I mentioned needing to find a private supervisor and he more or less volunteered and it seemed like a great idea because he's smart and good. Today, though, hilariously we discussed my coworker whose voice I cannot tolerate and I mentioned feeling bad about being unfriendly to her and he suggested somehow just acknowledging to her that her voice makes me want to run screaming into the sea. NEVER EVER GOING TO HAPPEN. But really, I like him a lot.

1. What bill do you hate paying the most?

Electric because I can't automate it and automated bill-pay is the goddamn best thing.

2. When was the last time you had a romantic dinner?

Friday I think. Nothing crazy, just WB cooked and lit candles and we both had a few drinks and were happy to be around each other.

3. What do you really want to be?

A generally content person. A person who does not hate his job. Nothing grander than that. Taking the question more as it's intended, a writer, but capitalism is like "oh, you mean a COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR?" and I'm like "nopers."

4. How many colleges did you go to?

Undergrad at UT, PhD program (dropped out with MA) at U of C, MSW equivalent at U of C. Summer thingies at IU Bloomington, recalled with great happiness.

5. Why did you choose the shirt you have on now?

It's beyond laundry day and I was going to be in the remote office and not see the same people as yesterday so yeah it is yesterday's shirt. I need some new shirts. Largely because I've put on weight.

6. Thoughts on gas prices right now?

They are what they are. Gas is especially expensive in California. I get some reimbursement but there's also often sticker shock. This morning's fill-up (from driving on fumes) was $37. I get that environmentally it should be even more. I hate how much driving I do.

7. First thought when the alarm goes off in the morning?

I mostly don't set an alarm. The cats wake me a lot of the time. I don't really have thoughts in the morning. I guess sometimes I spend a while thinking about calling in sick.

8. Last thought you had before you went to bed last night?

Hi, kitty. Ok fine sure just rest your face directly on my face. That'll be.

9. Do you miss being a child?

No, I always wanted to be an adult. Sometimes I miss having no responsibilities but I most certainly don't miss not being able to make my own decisions. I miss my 20s some. College was nice.

10. What errand/chore do you despise most?

I don't mop. I make WB do it. I don't know quite why I hate it so much. It feels like it doesn't do anything, to me. It feels like pushing dirt around.

11. Up early or sleep in?

I really truly miss sleeping in but I rarely do it anymore.

12. Found love yet?

Various kinds, yeah.

13. Favorite lunch meat?

I dunno salami. Salami or something. Grocery store lunch meats are vile.

14. What do you get every time at Wal-MART?

I truly can't remember the last time I was at a WalMart.

15. Beach or lake?

Beach. What's the point of lakes really?

16. Is marriage overrated?

Marriage is for who it's for. Some people get married and love it. Some have no use for it. I'm in between. (Theoretically we are still getting married; it's just a little off the front burner, to the enormous distress of my mother.)

17. Ever crashed a vehicle?

Fender benders, keinahora.

18. Strangest place you've brushed your teeth?

Usually just in my mouth.

19. Somewhere you've never been but want to go?

Mexico City but I also kind of hate to indulge the Travel Is What Gives Life Meaning thing so it's also fine if I never go there. Italy looks nice.

20. At this point in your life, would you want to start a new career?

I'd love to but I can't figure out what so it isn't going to happen. I'd love to go back in time and be someone who makes an actual thing, like a carpenter.

21. Do you have a go to person?

Different people for different things.

22. Are you where you want to be in life?

Not really but it could be a lot worse. I have no debt; I have a career of sorts that pays the rent. I have some satisfying pastimes.

23. Growing up what were your favorite cartoons?

Super Friends.

24. What do you think has changed about you since you are older?

I'm meaner but less dumb.

25. Someone who you think will do this?

No one should feel the need.
